Julie Takes a Walk is an original comedy pilot by Shea Vassar (think Desert Hearts meets a 2000s rom com with a northeast Oklahoma setting).

Shea was an Artist in Residence with the The 2024 Sundance Institute Native Lab while Julie Takes a Walk continued script development.

In April 2025, Shea collaborated with an incredible Oklahoma-based crew, including co-director Frankie Pedersen, to create a proof of concept short film version of Julie Takes a Walk. This is currently in post production.
